listening to: The New Pornographers - Testament to Youth in Verse
You know what? I never really enjoyed the New Pornographers before, but now that I'm listening to this CD while busy doing something else, it's really enjoyable.
I had such a great day today, starting at 4:26pm....I arrive at Megatunes and see a Lush bag sitting on the counter. I get really sad because I don't have a Lush bag, and no Lush products... "who-o-o's l-l-lush b-b-b-bag is that?" i cry. "why, twyla - it's for you!" chris exclaims... "whaaaa!" I shout. I pick up the bag, hug it, open it, shout again, flip the bag over, read the sweet words of Vanessa, and hug the bag again! I rip around the store for a bit, sniffing my brand new Karma Bath Bomb, and smile and cheer and love myself, and send out big mental love vibes to Vanessa. Then my boss shouts at me to "please come up stairs"... yikes. I put the bath bomb down and run up. He tells me to sit until he finishes typing an email. so i sat and sweated for a bit, skimming over in my head if I did anything bad there recently that I might be getting in trouble for. I can't think of anything except for I've let the Consignment CD's get fucking out of control lately. He finishes the email and turns to me. "My daughter is graduating this year..." he begins "...and she wants to plan an after-grad party"... basically, I get to put on a private rock show, carpenters union hall, all expenses paid with the Neckers, the Reverie Sound Revue and the Dudes. Fucking so fun. So I was like "yay!" then... he was like "so... I heard that the Datsuns jean jacket fits you really well..." and he gave it to me! so great! then I came downstairs only for Chris to hand me a copy of The Sounds - Living In America! The best CD ever! Maybe not ever, but right now i really am loving it.
So, even though I got home at 2am, and had to work at the office job all day, and then come right here and work all night, I am still happy.
Please listen to the French Kicks. They're really good.

VANESSA RULES!
say that like how in the movie Billy Madison when those bullies always say "O'Doyle Rules!"
