listening to: The Pretenders - Brass In Pocket
the best thing about Wednesday's is that Mike goes golfing, and it's just Lisa & I for a few hours, so all good tunes. awesome. i love saying "tunes".
Last night was hectic, man.
First I went to the Mercury for the BeatRoute launch party. I had zero fun, and I was really uncomfortable. Nobody talked to me, except for Glenn and Jessica and Danielle. Then I sort of forced Spencer Brown to talk to me whether he liked it or not. I really like that Spencer Brown. I had a beer, but could only finish 1/4 of it, ate 1 delightful piece of free sushi (free food and beer was a little exciting, and had I been a little less uncomfortable I would have been hammered and full!)and then I gave Spencer my drink ticket and took off.
I went to the Ship and saw Holly on the street infront playing Frisbee. I went inside and talked to Amber for a while.
Then I walked over to the Drum & Monkey. I missed that Political Platform thing at the NG, phew. Fucking Politics. But don't worry - Trevor filled me in pretty completely. Trevor is actually pretty funny and forgiving if you think about it. I've been such a jerk to him, (not REALLY jerky, but just like always telling everybody about how he pissed on two of my couches...see...there I go again!)and he always is still pretty nice to me anyway. Trevor once made a meal for us girls at Headquarters, and to this day it is still one of my favourite dinners! Ladies, ask Trevor to cook for you, and you'll be surprised! Are you Italian, trev?
Anywhore. Everyone was at the Drum, and so that was good. Then Craigtastic and Wadester came, and I sat for a bit but then needed to get out of there. I was walking home and I thought to myself, "twyla. You should really get a hot dog from Goode & Dunn..." and so I turned to go get one, and I see Dan M. running across the street, so I talked to him for a bit, and the decided to pass on the hotdog and go see if I could find Lizbot instead. I stopped in at Broken City, and just missed her, apparently. SO I just talked to Zakker for a bit, and then headed home. In the air I smelled SUBWAY, and so I walked past my house and to the SUBWAY where I purchase a Deli-Style Veggie Delite for only $1.70. Then I sat outside and ate it because I also bought the new issue of INTOUCH with Mary-Kate and Ashley on the cover. Oh Mary-Kate! i'm sorry to hear about you being in Rehab. Anorexia is a terrible disease, and I'm happy that you are getting help. Also, now that you're 18 years old and in control of your multi-million dollars, I hope that you and Ashley stay close and don't get carried away like Paris Hilton... Anyway. as I was on the curb eating my sub and reading about my favourite twins, a boy came over and asked, "which one's in trouble?" and I was so happy to talk to someone about the girls that we talked for about 10 minutes. I told him that I was going to send a card to Mary-Kate in rehab, and he said "you're weird!" and so I said "bye, then!" and I got up and left.
I like how strangers think they can just randomly come up and talk to me. I make new friends wherever I go.
Except for at that BeatRoute party last night. Fuck did I ever hate that. Go style your hair! Flip your collar up a little higher! Squeeze into a tighter jean jacket! there you go... awesome!
love,
Twyla.
